So, high… no High as the clouds gas prices. Food prices going up, the thought of retiring and resting on any thing such as a laurel, well. That is just not gonna happen. My years or lottery playing and scratching off the tickets, has yielded a less than stellar winning percentage. (I can remember a part time job at Walther liquors and spending my entire paycheck, something like $260.00 chasing the lottery dream. I think I went home with nearly $140.00 and a bruised ego. )
So, Indeed/LinkedIn/Ziprecruiter. You have been my friends. I just a few days back signed with monster and well. Wow. They call me. Sadly with jobs that I do not think I would like. But, I get a lot of calls.
Anyway. Fast forward from mass applications evenings and waking up worrying, thinking, what the hell am I doing? Yes, I have lived it. And, if you are like me, you have a mortgage, a kid or two or three in school and you are paying for college, or are about to, and your income is about to get, well dicey.
And what the heck happened to the traditional job interview. Yet another thing the pandemic really changed. All zoom, many a phone call and many attempts to reach out via email and text even. I am no computer genius, but is there no interaction with people directly anymore.
( I laugh at this thought. I like to swim for exercise because I am alone with my thoughts. and now I want to talk to people. Geez)
So, second interviews are scheduled. Many are telling me they forwarded my info to their hiring manager. SO I sit back and see what will come of it. Set up my interview room. Cat free spaces and have a good background. and have a reason to shave again. Hmm. Novel concept. Wish me luck and I will let you know. Meanwhile, I still scour the internet for auction deals, and flip that stuff when I can. A buck is a buck. some days, there is great profit, but they are rare. I guess I need to work harder at it to make it more profitable. Still employing that lesson learned from our youth. Work hard – reap rewards. I will see what work hard, prep well gets me in the next few days. Adios for now…
